My Story

I’m Caroline, an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (MSc) with 17 years’ nursing experience and a passion for women’s health.

​

My career has taken me through a range of clinical and senior roles, including 10 years as a specialist nurse in oncology and haematology,  As an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and in NHS leadership  as a Community Matron. I've also completed accredited menopause coach training with Lauren Chiren , an international expert on menopause coaching and Founder and CEO of Women of a Certain stage. I'm a trauma informed coach allowing me to combine my clinical experience with a more personal, supportive approach.

During my time working in primary care, I increasingly realised that a standard NHS GP appointment often simply doesn't allow the time needed to properly explore the many ways menopause can affect a woman’s health, wellbeing, work and everyday life. There are often questions left unanswered and conversations that need more time and space.

 

Having experienced my own very confusing perimenopause symptoms shortly after I had my daughter, I nearly left a long career in nursing and it took friends and family to help me join the dots and I realised there was a lack of understanding about what some women were experiencing.

That’s what led me to menopause coaching.

​

I wanted to create a space where women could slow things down, be truly listened to, ask questions and receive the time, understanding and personalised support that can be difficult to provide within a traditional GP appointment.

​

I’m also a busy working mum of three, living in a neurodivergent household, so I understand how hard it can be to balance your health, work, family and everything else life throws at you!

​

I created Beyond the Fog because I want women to feel heard, informed and supported — and to know that they are not broken,  they just need more support.
